Shoulder Society Innsbruck


(Verein zur Förderung der wissenschaftlichen Forschung in der Schulterchirurgie und Sporttraumatologie an der Medizinischen Universität Innsbruck)


The non-profit society, founded in 2002 exclusively supports and realizes scientific research in traumatology and orthopaedics, especially in shoulder and elbow surgery with the aim of publication of outcomes, providing benefits for the general public.


In collaboration with the Medical University of Innsbruck and the Department for Anatomy the International Innsbruck Anatomy Course on Surgery of the Shoulder is organized once a year, providing excellent training on open and arthroscopic shoulder surgery techniques using human cadavers.


The aim of the society is based on both idealistic and financial supportive resources. Furthermore, scientific research and publication in scientific journals, presentations and interactive events, meetings and congresses with cooperating researchers, as well as the establishment of a scientific library and educational meetings are realized.


The society is financed by participational fees, membership fees, profit derived by meetings and events, fund-raising, subsidies, legacies and other grands.
